Meet the Crosscut Team
Wes serves as Co-Founder and CEO of Crosscut Gas Partners. He has experience in building, managing and growing businesses that provide sustainable solutions, with a customer focused mindset. For the last ten years, his success has demonstrated the ability to provide tailored solutions to his customers, that produce win-win outcomes. Wes has 10+ years of serving in leadership and executive roles across several business in the Permian Basin. Wes served as the Sales Manager of Phoenix Lease Services, CCO of Flowpoint Water Solutions, Co-Founder and CEO of Commodore Midstream Partners. Wes also serves in leadership roles locally to help support Midland and local government.

Ian has held an executive position for over 12 years in the energy sector, and has served as an investor and board member for four different successful service and midstream businesses. He has also been CAO at ProPetro (including while the company underwent a successful IPO).
Ian Denholm

Tyler has over 15 years of experience in executive management. He served as President of Phoenix Lease Services, where he successfully managed over 150 employees and was responsible for managing and growing $50+ million in annual sales revenue.
Tyler Smith
Partner and CCO
Josh has over 20 years of experience in operations, and in managing 575 compressor units across the Permian Basin. He has also designed and constructed 50+ miles of gathering lines and compressor stations (~48MMSCFD).

Michael has over 15 years of E&P and midstream experience across multiple basins. He has held midstream roles of increasing importance in engineering, project development, operations, asset management and commercial and business development.

Jessica has over 10 years’ experience in managing the accounting group of multiple companies. She was the Controller at Endeavor Energy Resources, LP, Service Division, where she managed a team of 40+ within the accounting department of 13 services companies that consisted well servicing, electrical, trucking, wireline, supply chain, roustabout, manufacturing, etc. Since she has left EER, she has been working with the water and gas midstream companies.

John has worked in the energy finance sector for over 10 years with experience in investment banking, private equity and multiple operating companies. He has led teams within start-ups to multi-billion dollar companies.

Paige brings 8 years of Oil & Gas experience in the Midland Basin, with a background in power generation supervision for completions. In her role, she is responsible for strategic planning, inventory optimization, and cross-functional coordination across operational teams.

Brian Mendez brings over 15 years of experience in the oil and gas industry, with a primary focus on Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS). Throughout his career, he has also gained valuable operations and marketing leadership experience, serving in a Vice President role. Brian holds multiple OSHA certifications along with advanced degrees in his respective fields, combining industry knowledge with a strong commitment to safety, operational excellence, and team success.
Brian Mendez

Stephanie is a native Midlander with more than 15 years of experience in the oil and gas industry, specializing in right-of-way operations, land acquisition, and complex negotiations. For over a decade, she has served in leadership roles, successfully managing high-performing teams and overseeing large-scale infrastructure projects from planning through execution. Throughout her career, Stephanie has led the negotiation and acquisition of more than 1,500 miles of pipeline rights-of-way, as well as numerous plant, compressor station, and related facility sites.
With a deep understanding of right-of-way strategies in the Permian, team leadership, and project management, as well as an ability to build strong relationships with landowners, stakeholders, and project teams, Stephanie brings a collaborative, results-driven approach to every project. Her extensive industry knowledge, commitment to operational excellence, and dedication to client success make her a valuable piece of the Crosscut Team.
Stephanie Mitchell
Senior Director of Land
J.R. brings over 20 years of international and domestic operational leadership experience, with a track record of standing up and scaling operations that deliver reliable, customer-focused solutions both globally and across the Permian Basin. Over his career, J.R. has stewarded a ~$1.8 billion capital portfolio and led operations organizations exceeding 100 personnel. Before his energy career, he served as a Combat Infantry Officer in the United States Army, leading soldiers in combat during Operation Enduring Freedom. J.R. is based in Midland, where he is committed to supporting the local community.
JR Beck
Senior Vice President of Operations
Aaron Anderson has over 10 years of experience as a Surface Landman, working across all sectors of the oil and gas industry, with most of his career focused on Midstream Operations. He has had the opportunity to work on projects throughout Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, Colorado, Wyoming, and Oklahoma, where he has built strong relationships with landowners along with moving a wide variety of pipeline and infrastructure projects from start to finish.
Aaron Anderson
Staff Landman
Matthew brings a combination of operations and finance experience to the team. He has worked in upstream operations across the Delaware Basin, DJ Basin, Sakhalin-Russia, and Stabroek-Guyana, and has investing experience across energy and industrial sectors. He holds a BS in Mechanical Engineering from UT Austin and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
